Your material is clearly written, Alex. My brain was not working at the time, I guess!

Nice PEM, but it's an Izhevsk PEM, it was not marked with CH letters. Your rifle has Izhevsk sniper garde barrel marking - C in circle. I think I need to clarify more about this in reference, will make some updates
I really enjoyed the PEM section. I have an example of an early Izhevsk PEM (ex sniper configuration) that appears to have retained it's original stock through the refurbishment to ex-sniper. Notice the lack of a "CH" barrel mark and the lack of the rear half liner in the stock.

Yes, I know about "C" marking at 1944 Izhevsk sniper receivers. however, I can't provide much details about, further research is required. It's unclear was it specific only to snipers, since what period it was used and so on

Well, I think my comment was not full. I mean complete Polish PU sniper rifles. I have read that somebody stated that he saw such rifle
Also in the PU section, the "C" mark is also sometimes found on the top of the Izhevsk highwall part of the receiver. This one is a 1944 Izhevsk that has the Arsenal #2 refurb mark.
It also has what appears to be a poorly struck "C" on the left rear of the barrel next to the receiver.
Just wanted to say THANKS, Alex!! I really enjoy learning about the details of some of the rifles in my collection and it's fun to be able to decipher the different markings.
